How does computer repair work

At your home or business
You call StarfixIT, explain your computer problem to our technician and make an appointment for repair at your home. We will inform you of travel costs and provide you with a rough estimate. On the day of the appointment, we recommend you to have all of the computer’s software CDs on hand. Shortly before the agreed upon time, the technician will call you and introduce himself. Before the technician gets to work on your computer, you will be asked to sign our disclaimer. The technician will then take a look at your computer, determine the problem, and estimate the time and money required to fix it. You are free to mention other computer problems so that the technician can deal with them as well. Once the technician has completed the job, he will show you everything he did and write up an invoice.

At our repair facility
If you drop your computer off for service, please make a simple list of all the problems you’ve been encountering. Drop-offs are by appointment only. You will be called within a few hours about the estimated costs to repair your computer. If you decide not to proceed with repair, you will only be held accountable for the diagnostic fee. When your computer is ready, we call you to make another appointment for you to pick it up again. Please see “Rates” for more information.

Remote support
A technician logs onto your computer, keeps track of the time, and fixes the problem or problems. After the call, we send you the invoice. You can the pay online by credit card or PayPal. Please see “Rates” for more information.
